Acupuncture Care Contributes to Wellness

Acupuncture is a form of traditional Chinese medicine that has been practiced for centuries. It is based on the theory that energy, called chi (pronounced chee), flows through and around your body along pathways called meridians. Acupuncture is one way to help restore health and balance to the body by unlocking chi.

Dr. Craig has been a licensed chiropractic acupuncturist since 2007. Acupuncture is performed by putting very thin needles into your skin at certain points on your body to influence energy flow. Sometimes heat or a mild electrical current is used along with the needles.

An AcuGraph may be used to determine areas of decreased energy flow. The AcuGraph is a method of evaluation that helps the doctor pinpoint specific issues, choose the most effective treatments, document progress and demonstrate the power of acupuncture with objective proof.

Consultation & Treatment

Dr. Craig will meet with you to determine if acupuncture is right for you. Often, patients will receive a chiropractic adjustment before acupuncture to speed up the recovery process. The acupuncture treatment itself is 20 minutes long, but plan on at least 30 minutes, as the needles will need to be inserted and removed.

Acupuncture Can Be Used for A Variety of Reasons:

  • Pain relief
  • Headaches—including migraines
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Muscle spasms
  • Low back and neck pain
